AUTOMATION SPECIALIST
Shawinigan Aluminium is currently seeking an AUTOMATION SPECIALIST to support its industrial operations.
You will be responsible for the design, optimization, and support of automated systems within critical production processes.
Your work will have a direct impact on:
- Equipment reliability
- Process efficiency
- Product quality
- Operational safety
Profile
- University degree (asset) or technical training in electrical engineering, automation, robotics, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in automation
- Experience in an industrial environment (asset)
- Knowledge of PLC systems, SCADA, instrumentation, and industrial networks
- Ability to analyze and optimize automated systems
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage priorities
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Technical leadership and ability to influence (asset)
- Autonomy, rigor, and strong analytical skills
- Excellent command of French, both spoken and written
Responsabilities
- Design, program, and optimize automated systems (PLC, SCADA)
- Analyze processes to improve performance and reliability
- Participate in automation projects and equipment commissioning
- Troubleshoot failures and support maintenance teams
- Develop and maintain operator interfaces and control systems
- Ensure technical documentation of automated systems
- Collaborate on the integration of new technologies and equipment
- Contribute to continuous improvement of industrial processes
- Participate in capital investment (CAPEX) project management
- Maintain awareness of technological developments in the field
- Participate in on-call duties as required by operational needs
- Perform any other related duties
