ELECTROMECHANICAL TECHNICIAN
Shawinigan Aluminium is currently seeking an ELECTROMECHANICAL TECHNICIAN to support its industrial operations.
In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining the reliability and performance of production equipment.
Your interventions will have a direct impact on:
- Equipment availability and reliability
- The continuity and efficiency of production operations
- The safety of facilities and employees
- Product quality and compliance
Profile
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and/or hydraulic failures
- Conduct operational tests, inspections, and adjustments to ensure optimal equipment performance
- Repair, adjust, and replace defective components
- Participate in the installation, commissioning, and improvement of industrial equipment
- Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and/or technical schematics
- Collaborate with teams to minimize downtime and optimize performance
- Complete intervention reports and ensure proper follow-up on completed work
- Strictly apply occupational health and safety (OHS) standards and procedures
- Perform any other related duties
Responsabilities
- Diploma in Electromechanics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related/equivalent field
- Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Understanding of production operations
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and/or hydraulic systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and control systems (asset)
- Strong command of French, both spoken and written
- Availability to work a rotating day/night schedule (12-hour shifts – 3-2-2-3 schedule)
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage priorities
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Autonomy, rigor, and strong sense of responsibility
- Strong focus on quality and safety
